What crackpot writer would have Chapter 23 (of 25) titled "A Minor and Temporary Inconvenience"? 🤔 That's supposed to be full of action, change, and big stuff!

Ah, yes, an odd choice for a chapter title. But now you've seen the quote from which it came.

QUESTION — How different do you feel that 2026 will be from 2006? Or, how different do you feel 2020 was from 2006?
Imagine if the Eyes in the Shadows succeeds in 2006 and then something unprecedented happens, like a worldwide pandemic... 😨😵

  1. Wow! What intriguing questions. And significant to this day and age. Your urban fantasy seems very scary to me. All the luck with this new giveaway and release. All best to you!

    1. It is certainly a dark urban fantasy. Thank you!

  2. Apart from a lot more tech around, especially in our homes, and possibly more AI where we don't notice it, I suspect 2026 won't feel that much different, except perhaps for even more dire political shenanigans.

    1. I watched that Tic Toc Boom documentary earlier. Yikes.

  3. I did wonder at the chapter title until I read the part that it came from.
As for 2023 being different from 2006: cellphones are computers instead of just phones, I have an AI assistant, the internet is an entirely different beast than back then, working remotely is a thing, eBooks and all that entails is an entire world away from back then, social media was in its infancy in 2006 and today you can stalk anyone you want, and I can adopt a pet anywhere in the country through Instagram and WhatsApp -- in 2006 it was all newspaper ads and uncomfortable phone calls. Can't wait to see what 2026 will bring :-)

  4. Oh my! A pandemic on 2006 would have been more devastating: internet wasn´t as accesible, and I´m sure more misinformation would spread about illnesses. I remember when H1N1 happened in Mexico in 2009, my sister in Spain called us to know if we were fine, as the news said that the virus was as letal that people fell like flies in the street! And in realitiy, besides wearing a mask and avoiding people who sneezed, here it was quite mild (Or maybe that´s what they made me believe). 🤷‍♂️
How sad it is that for big leaders, the common humans are nothing than "Minor and Temporary Inconveniences".
